Lions tackle in-form Bulldogs

27/06/2008 11:10:00 AM
PEAKE won a close match last week to give them a great chance of playing finals this year, but run into Murrayville in great form after beating BDT last week.

Matt Seyers had a great match last week, but only kicked one goal, with more contributions from other players.

Nathan Spry has been in the best players most weeks, as has Kym Marwick.

Toby Downs is back to kicking goals and Kevin Roberts adds experience to the forward line. Travis Carling and Brendan Pett are classy midfielders and Gareth Diprose leads a solid defence.

Drew Crane makes a huge difference to Murrayville, providing a strong focal point at full forward.

Clayton Sporn and Shannan Wyatt are regular goal kickers and James Beckmann roams the forward line creating opportunities for his teammates.

Will Dalwood is having a consistent season and Brad Wyatt is experienced in defence.

Murrayville are in great form and will be too strong for Peake.

Karoonda v BDT

Karoonda were good for two and a half quarters last week, but were over-run by a fitter and well-drilled Lameroo.

Luke Hocking is the shining light playing up forward, with Corey Knight and Brodie Chinner gaining plenty of possession through the midfield.

Andrew Smithson has been good this year playing at centre half back and Paul Liedig is an imposing figure in ruck.

Jacob Neary is also providing drive on a wing for Karoonda.

BDT will want to put last week’s loss behind them quickly.

Matt Schilling is enjoying a good year and Josh and Lachlan Richardson are all class in the midfield.

Luke Remfry is a hard worker and Jarren Crabb is a regular in the best player list.

Jack Zacker is a strong, small forward and Jarvis Webb is a goal-kicking ruckman.

BDT will be far too strong for Karoonda.

Lameroo v Pinnaroo

Lameroo are not playing particularly well, but are still top with one loss for the season. Their best football is as good as anyone, but they need to produce over four quarters.

Rodney Maynard and Shaun Walker are all class and players like Shane Agelis, Jarred Eckermann, Stephen Kerley and Matt Caulfield have confidence running forward when these players control the midfield.

Kym Benham is a strong ruckman and Alan Penhall does a lot of hard work in the packs. Mark Benham is having a good year playing across half back.

Pinnaroo are at the cross roads.

They are good enough to play finals, but need to produce their best on a regular basis.

Brett Gum is playing well in the midfield and Nick Westphalen is a strong, hard running player.

Alex Keogh is a young player who gets plenty of the ball and Clint Muster is classy if he can remain injury free.

Wade Nickolls is by far the best ruckman in the league and brother Chad is a good ruckman who likes to play forward and kick goals.

Lameroo should have too many options against Pinna-roo.
